Exploring students’ perceptions of integrating Wiki
technology and peer feedback into English writing courses
This
journal studied about applied integrated Wiki technology (writing course) and
peer review to an English as a foreign language writing class. The objective of
the study was to investigate whether this system, as collaborative platform, would
improve students writing skill. This study was conducted over one semester and involved
32 student participants of English department at a college in Taiwan which used
a socio-cultural theoretical framework, semi-structured interviews and focus
survey on participants to gain the result. The findings revealed that
meaningful social interaction appears to play a significant role with regard to
students’ perceived benefits of this collaborative writing process. Most of
students explicitly stated that they felt positive toward their ability to
apply Wiki and peer feedback to writing instruction. But somehow they faced
both functional and psychological obstacles to use the new tools, indicating
the need to alter their traditional learning practices to learn embrace new
technology-enhanced learning systems.
Hi, Dyah. It is great article about blended learning. Since there are some obstacles to use the new tools in the result, I think we can do further research to overcome it.
